A little bit of history
When we started IOC we tried to forget everything we knew about what a school was, and re-imagine what a school could be. We had a vision that if we took people away from the stress and distractions of everyday life, looked after their every need from nourishing meals, to daily yoga, to a classroom filled with plants and natural light we could create an accelerated learning environment. And it worked. Turns out, when you prioritize the physical and mental well-being of your students above all else, something amazing happens - they learn really fast.
We’ve always believed so much in the in-person learning experience, that we honestly didn’t know how much was possible to achieve through a digital course until we actually tried it. When the pandemic closed the borders, we took everything that we previously taught in person in Bali and adapted it to a digital format, creating a structure that would bring some of the most crucial elements of our in-person experience (like our teaching methodology, practical project-based learning, and hands-on mentor support) to a digital experience. And again, when we put the needs of our students first we’ve been blown away by what our students have accomplished, and just how much they have learnt through an entirely digital course.
So as the borders moved towards re-opening in Bali, we were faced with a choice; we could keep teaching the same curriculum we had always taught, so that the digital & bali bootcamps would cover the same content just in a different format; or we could do something new, and let the digital bootcamp become a stepping stone to a more advanced bali bootcamp.
Why an advanced bootcamp?
Our biggest priority is always our students, and when we paused to listen to the hundreds of students we’ve taught over the years the message was clear - we want more.
IOC helped them to start their journey, and now as their skills and businesses were growing, they wanted us to be part of the next steps - taking them from $3k months to $10k ones, landing their dream clients, scaling their business as it grows, streamlining their workflow to give them more freedom and flexibility.
With the success of our students in the digital bootcamps, along with alumni reaching out us time & time again, asking if we would consider offering an advanced course, it became clear that the most obvious next step for bali was for it to become an advanced career accelerator.
So rather than repeat the same curriculum in our bali & digital bootcamps, starting today our bali bootcamps will become an advanced career accelerator. It will start with the 10-day bali bootcamp and then we’ve added a 3-month coaching program to take the strategy you develop for your business and provide accountability & support when you need it most - as you are putting everything you’ve learnt into practice in the real world.
Having established all the foundational & business skills in the digital bootcamp, it gives us an opportunity to go so much deeper in the content that we teach - more advanced skills, bigger portfolio projects, etc. Our bali bootcamps have always been life-changing, and our students have always left with a lingering wish ‘imagine if we had ten more days here… just how much more we could cover’. Now that’s exactly what we’ll have.
What will the advanced bootcamps look like?
As soon as we decided to move to an advanced bootcamp, our mind exploded wth all the possibilities it could bring to our students that were looking to take their knowledge and skills to wildly new heights… and fast!
At the Bali bootcamp you have a chance to go deeper, learn more advanced skills, build an impressive portfolio of projects and work on your business with support from a team of experienced mentors. It’s affordable, accessible and you can join it from anywhere in the world.
While it’s entirely online, it’s so much more than an online-course, our digital bootcamp includes over 125+ easy-to-understand video tutorials, practical activities and step-by-step projects that you can build for your own portfolio. What to expect in our photography bali bootcamp
With social media fueling a constant need for fresh content, demand for photography skills is growing every day. Whether you want to specialise in food photography, product photography, fashion & lifestyle, portraits or anything else - you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.
Take everything you’ve learnt in the digital bootcamp and expand on it with 10 incredible days immersive learning, shooting & editing campaigns with our mentors standing side-by-side to give you feedback. You’ll master advanced techniques in food, product, lifestyle & travel photography setting up systems and processes to streamline your workflow and grow your business.
In the Bali bootcamp, you’ll have opportunities that would be hard if not impossible to organise on your own - on one day we’ll take you around the island to some of our favourite spots to capture adventure & landscape photography, on another we’ll bring in models, stylist & HMUA and help you shoot an entire fashion campaign, and on another we’ll setup professional mini-studios around the campus for food & product photography. You’ll walk away with the kind of portfolio that usually takes someone at least a year to build on their own, in only 10 days. And then we’ll help you master your editing style, structure your packages & prices and get ready to start attracting your dream client.
What to expect in our web dev bali bootcamp
In the bali bootcamp we’ll go further with the kind of advanced skills that help you land bigger, better clients, as well as skills that streamline your workflow and help you build client sites faster. We’ll be learning things like vanilla javascript, advanced jekyll site structures, how to collaborate with other developers and build advanced workflows with github, and how to speed up and streamline your projects with css & javascript frameworks.
From e-commerce sites, to digital magazines or blogs and membership portals, we cover the most in-demand skills to help you start landing bigger, better clients. And we’ll cover the whole process start to finish, from mock client briefs, to wireframing, design, and coding, all the way through to delivering it to the client.
