We’ll take you to the most scenic, photographic, Instagrammable locations around northern Bali where you’ll snap, ‘gram and experience the beauty of Bali.
We’ve always enjoyed concluding our coding retreats on a high. After each student has bracketed their last element and triple-tested their media queries, we spend an afternoon oohing and aahing at their masterpieces.
Champagne and sparklers make an appearance, and we lap up all the good vibes presentation day has to offer. As amazeballs as our last days are, we still want more. We’ve come to learn that our students simply can’t get enough of their new-found friendships and of course, Bali. This led us to one of our best ideas yet.
We’re now inviting our students to stick with us in Bali for two extra days, exploring norther Bali. Our tours are nothing like what you’d find offered elsewhere. From a highly curated set of locations, you’ll snap, ‘gram and capture the beauty of Bali. We’ll take you to the most scenic, photographic, Instagrammable locations around.
Our brand spankin’ new Bali Instagram Tour is the antidote to your don’t-want-to-leave Bali blues. The arrangements are similar to what you would enjoy during our retreats – we take care of the boring stuff, so you can focus on all the fun stuff. We’ll handle details such as where you’ll be sleeping and how you’ll get from place to place and what you’ll have for breakfast.
To kick things off, we’ll head far North on the first day to explore water temples, epic waterfalls and UNESCO heritage rice terraces. On the following day, we’ll head East to the most sacred temples, hanging gardens and hidden caves. Trust us, you’ll be looking for ways to prolong your stay well beyond your initial plans.
For those partaking in our Social Media & Marketing course, our co-founder and in-house photographer (Emilio) will spend the first night doing a photographer re-fresher mastermind (you will undertake a more in-depth one during the course). The mastermind will go over the basics of shooting, followed by tips on how to shoot each location - including the best camera settings, poses and alternative techniques for more creative photos.
DAY 1 - Chasing Waterfalls and Misty Lakes in Northern Bali
Our adventure will start super early before sunrise at the misty volcanic lake Danau Tamblingan. We’ll watch the sun come up as we slowly paddle our canoe across the lake, the light here never disappoints! We’ll have a quick snack here and you’ll have an opportunity to try Pisang Goreng if you’re game (a popular breakfast of deep fried banana… its so gooood!)
A short drive will take us to the infinity pool and a hot breakfast at Munduk Plantation. The coffee grown at the plantation is a must and is a perfect way to warm up after a cold morning on the lake (yes it gets cold in Bali!). Once we warm up and have taken a million pictures we’ll take a quick drive to Munduk waterfall, one of our personal favourites.
Once we have finished up here, we’ll jump in the car and head for the Aling-Aling waterfalls, this is the perfect place to spend the hottest part of the day! Its made up of 4 waterfalls, each one with its own crystal clear pool to swim in. There are even jumping platforms of differing heights is you’re after a bit of adrenaline! We’ll have lunch here at a little cafe that serves traditional balinese food and ice cold beer.
Our next stop is Handara golf course, that has its very own amazing gate that is perfect for photos because literally no one is around. After a quick stop we will head to our final stop, Jatiluwih Rice Terraces.
Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are a UNESCO World Heritage site and is absolutely stunning. You’ll have an opportunity to explore the terraces as the sun sets or just chill in one of the cafes and put your feet up after a long day!
We will finish our jam packed day with a late dinner in Ubud.
DAY 2 - Temples, rice paddies and vocanoes, oh my!
Day 2 is going to start with the perfect sunrise over Tegalalang rice terraces, everyones favorite site in Ubud and luckily for us its close so we can have a bit of a sleep-in. Getting here early is the key to a great photo, the light comes streaming in and there is no-one around so its perfect!
Once we have taken some epic shots we will head back down to Ubud for breakfast, to fuel up for another bid day of exploring!
From there will will take you to one of our favorite hidden waterfalls in Bali. This secret cave waterfall is hidden in a deep gorge, with walls covered in hanging plants and moss covered rocks, making you feel like you’re on the set of an Indiana Jones movie. Its a bit of a hike, but worth every step!
From there it is off to Sideman to have lunch while marvelling the view of the mighty Mt. Agung volcano and completely untouched rice terraces.
Afterwards we head to the famous and most sacred temple in Bali, Besakih Temple, here we will explore the huge complex of temples, finishing at the highest temple, to watch our final sunset in Bali.
The tour will end with dinner and one more nights accommodation in Ubud. If you’re lucky, Emilio (co-founder and photographer) might take one extra guided tour the following morning to one of his favourite photography spots, Campuhan Ridge, but you’ll have to be extra nice!
